Product Description
Details
The rarity of the camera is the serial number: V21. Normally Zeiss used the V numbers for test lenses (Versuchsobjektive). However some cameras were also engraved with a V or VK number and were also test cameras.
This pre-production (Versuchs series) camera was produced before the final series came on the market.
Compared to the production series there are some differences:
- A raised winding button
- A raised shutter release button
- Accessory shoe with number
- Lack of a camera number in the leather
In specific the place of the serial number (and of course the number) is interesting. Normally the number is stamped into the camera leather and consists of a letter followed by (usually) five numbers.
Technically the camera is in perfect condition. Speeding times are accurate. Finder is bright and clear. Cosmetically the camera is in very nice condition. Some small signs of use. No dings or dents. Some small signs on the chrome finish, leather and paint.
This camera is an absolute rarity and should belong in a nice Zeiss Ikon collection. Don't wait too long.
The left camera on the last picture shows a regular production camera with the standard features.
Please note that the camera on the left side in the last picture is not included in the sale.
