Canon

Founded in the 1930s, Canon Inc. has become one of the world’s largest and most innovative camera manufacturers. It all started in a small Tokyo workshop, where Goro Yoshida repaired motion picture cameras and was inspired to create Japan’s first 35mm camera, the Kwanon, in 1934. By 1937, the company was officially named Canon, with the goal of surpassing Leica. Over the years, Canon introduced iconic cameras, from the SLRs of the 1950s to the groundbreaking EOS series, and in 2000, launched its first DSLR, the EOS D30.
