Paillard Bolex
Founded in 1927 by Paul Paillard, Paillard Bolex became renowned for its iconic filmmaking cameras and lenses. In 1935, the company introduced the H16, its first 16mm reflex camera, with key contributions from Charles Haccius and Jacques Bogopolsky.
During the 1930s and 1940s, Bolex gained popularity for its affordable, durable cameras and sharp lenses. In the 1960s, it introduced the electric H16 EBM, further enhancing its lens technology.
Though Bolex exited the market in the late 20th century, its vintage cameras and lenses are still prized by filmmakers and collectors for their exceptional quality.
