Cokin
Founded in 1978 by French photographer Jean Coquin, the Cokin Creative Filter System has become a key tool in photography. The system uses square or rectangular "drop-in" filters that fit into a holder, attaching easily to lenses with an adapter ring. Cokin filters are made from C39, a high-quality optical resin chosen for its clarity, stability, and lightness. This unbreakable material offers high optical transmission and is ideal for tinting, surpassing mineral glass in precision for photographic filters. These days Cokin also makes round filters for directly use on lenses.
