Konica

Konica

Founded in 1873 as Konica Optical Co., the company initially focused on photographic materials. In 1948, Konica launched its first camera, the Konica I, and became known for its sharp Hexanon lenses.

In the 1970s, Konica entered the SLR market with the Autoreflex T and advanced lens technology. The brand continued to innovate through the 1980s and 1990s, producing film and early digital cameras.

In 2003, Konica merged with Minolta to form Konica Minolta, shifting focus to digital imaging, though its legacy still endures among collectors and enthusiasts.
